Mike Nimon bio

Mike’s passion for economic development spans 20 years of experience. Prior to joining the City of Walnut Creek, he was an Economic Development Director in Vallejo. There he oversaw downtown and waterfront redevelopment, Mare Island conveyance and Specific Plan formation, business attraction, business retention, small business support programs, City’s real estate portfolio management, land disposition and developer negotiations, brownfield clean up, and support to the Economic Development Commission among other projects. Prior to that, Mike ran economic development for the City of Tracy.  Mike has a Masters in Business Administration with Real Estate specialization from Florida State University and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from San Jose State University. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics / Management Science from the University of California, San Diego. Mike enjoys spending time outdoors with his two kids.
